Wexford Farms, established in 1997, is a 3,000-acre working pine
plantation located in Montgomery, Wheeler, and Dodge Counties in South
Central Georgia. The owners, Kelly and Patrick Moran, use modern
forestry practices to plant, manage and, harvest pine timber.
Special attention is devoted to the preservation and propagation
of native wildlife and game. Wexford Farms was created from a merger of
lands which have been in Kelly’s family since the Civil War.
In fact, a portion of land came to Kelly’s great, great
grandfather, James O’Connor, as a payment for his services as a
mercenary for the Confederacy. Wexford Farms is blessed with a natural
abundance of creek bottoms, pine ridges, and wiregrass hills, which act
as a haven for quail, deer, and other game.
The Morans are avid quail hunters. The past ten years have been devoted to developing Wexford
Farms into a prime-hunting operation including a fine kennel of
pointers.
Our
hunting business is small - on purpose. We are not a cookie cutter
operation. We believe that
a hunting experience should be based on your particular needs and
desires. Therefore, we take great care in custom designing your hunt.
Our goal is a more intimate and relaxed hunt. After all, it’s your
day! We help you make the most of it.
